If Mapfolio Content is No Longer Shared With Your ArcGIS Online Group

If you're a member of a group where someone shares an application or a template, and that person leaves the group, the content they shared is no longer available to the group. You have no way of accessing it through Mapfolio.

This is a general feature of ArcGIS Online. A user is considered the owner the web maps they create and the content they share. If a user shares content with a group, and the user is removed from the group. their content is removed as well. You can find more information about that in the ArcGIS Online documentation.

To solve this problem, either the user who shared the content, or an administrator of your ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise Organization must transfer ownership of the content to someone within your group.

If you have shared content (like a web application, web map, etc.) that is used by a group, and you plan on leaving that group, this is how you can transfer ownership of the content and keep the content accessible to the group.
  1. Log into your ArcGIS Online Account.
  2. Select My Content from the items at the top of the page.
  3. Find the content you need to transfer and check the check boxes next to it.
  4. Select Change Owner from buttons above your content.
  5. In the Change Owner Dialog, select a new owner from the list of people in your organization. Select an existing folder, or create a new folder in their content. Then click the Change Owner button.

If you are an administrator for your ArcGIS Online Organization, you can transfer the ownership of templates and other content to users who will maintain it in their groups. Here is how you can transfer ownership using ArcGIS Online.

  1. Log into ArcGIS Online and select My Organization from the links at the top of the page.
  2. Find the user with content you need to transfer, and click the Action gear on the end of that users' row.
  3. Select Manage Itemsfrom the list of action items.
  4. Find the content you need to transfer and check the check boxes next to it.
  5. Select Change Owner from buttons above your content.
  6. In the Change Owner Dialog, select a new owner from the list of people in your organization. Select an existing folder, or create a new folder in their content. Then click the Change Owner button.

(Note: The Admin Tools "Update Item Owner" tool can help you perform this in bulk, if necessary)
