Here are some of the more common questions asked regarding Admin Tools for ArcGIS:

...

Q: Can Admin Tools for ArcGIS be used by non-ArcGIS Administrator Roles?
A: No. Admin Tools for ArcGIS is only usable by those with the full ArcGIS Administrator Role. The application works against the ArcGIS REST API by generating a login token to make calls for all tools and their operations, as well as accessing all items, users, and groups in the organization.

Q: Does Admin Tools for ArcGIS work the same between ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise?
A: Yes. Admin Tools for ArcGIS provides the same interface and workflows between ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.

...

Q: Can the Cloning Operation be used to migrate data from one ArcGIS Enterprise environment to another, or from ArcGIS Enterprise to ArcGIS Online? (UPDATED)
A: As of May 2022, Admin Tools 2.0 no longer supports the cloning operation. Backup My Org is now the recommended product to handle the migration of items, users, and groups from one organization to another. Please see the previous link for more information on the capabilities of this product.

Q: What are the System Requirements for an On-Premises Install?
A: Admin Tools for ArcGIS currently works in Windows Server 2016 or later. Any typical Windows server used as a web server should have enough RAM, Disk space, CPUs, etc. to run the Admin Tools. Additionally, Admin Tools for ArcGIS is run via a web browser, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.

...

Q: Where should Admin Tools for ArcGIS be if Installed On-Premises?
A: It is usually fine to install Admin Tools for ArcGIS on the same machine that runs the actual ArcGIS Enterprise. The application itself is very lightweight in terms of size and resources needed to run it. As long as the machine in question can "see" and connect to the Environments you would like to manage, Admin Tools should generally be able to be installed and run from that location.

Q: Can Admin Tools for ArcGIS be installed to the same location and machine hosting ArcGIS Server Monitor?

A:  Because Server Monitor takes over port 443, you cannot run Admin Tools on the same server. According to ArcGIS Server Monitor Documentation: "If Internet Information Server (IIS) is running on the same machine as the Monitor Server application, port 443 may already be in use and you'll need to choose a different port number, such as 444." It is then recommended that Admin Tools be installed to a different location.

Q: What versions of ArcGIS Enterprise does Admin Tools for ArcGIS work with?
A: GEO Jobe's Release Ready Specialty Designation ensures commitment to keeping up with ArcGIS Enterprise versions moving forward. Please note however that GEO Jobe GIS Consulting cannot guarantee full support for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.3 and earlier. Issues may arise, including (but not limited to) specific CORS settings requiring Admin Tools to be installed on the same domain as the Environment.

...

Q: If using dedicated servers for Admin Tools for ArcGIS, is a dedicated server per environment required, or can one “Admin Tools” server work for multiple environments?
A: One Admin Tools installation will suffice, provided we know all the various Environments it will need to be able to connect to for the build process.

Q: Do you need the DNS and hostnames of the federated ArcGIS Servers and Datastores?
A: We only need the Environment Hostnames and DNS, not any federated ArcGIS servers linked to them.

...

Q: Does GEO Jobe get access to any of our data or secure information? Does GEO Jobe have access to any login credentials?
A: No, please refer to our Admin Tools | Data and Security FAQ for more detailed information.
