Admin Tools 2.0 Improved Delete Users Tool

In the Native ESRI User Interface, if you were to attempt to delete a user that owns content, you'd be blocked from doing so until you have manually moved or deleted that content. Because of this, Our development team at GEO Jobe GIS Consulting has improved our product, Admin Tools 2.0, to ensure deleting a user with content is seamlessly an easy process. When using Admin Tools 2.0 "Delete User", the user is prompted with a popup option to either: (a) delete everything they own, or (b) move that content to a new user, and then proceed with deletion.

Step-by-step guide

STEP 1: After selecting the "Delete Users" tool, filter and sort as needed, and select the users you'd like to delete. Click Next.

STEP 2: Configuration will be needed prior to completely deleting the user, so select "Configure" to specify.

STEP 3: Select the option to delete all content along with the user, or move that content to a different user. If choosing to "Update ownership of items and groups", a drop-down will appear where you can either type in their name (with auto-complete) or selecting the user from the drop-down. Press "OK" when option has been selected.

STEP 4: Once configuring your user action, proceed with selecting the "Run Tool" button to complete deleting the user.

STEP 5: You will be redirected to a confirmation page that will specify if your request is/is not completed.

Availability

This tool is available in both the Basic and Pro Version of Admin Tools.
