Understanding Port Requirements for the ABCS of GIS

The ABCS of GIS from GEO Jobe require specific port configurations for various functionalities to operate seamlessly. Here's a breakdown of the default ports needed for different applications within an ArcGIS environment:

  1. Internet and Internal Access to ArcGIS Servers (Port 443): Both external and internal communication with ArcGIS Servers necessitate port 443. This port is essential for secure HTTP (HTTPS) traffic, ensuring encrypted data transfer between clients and servers. All of our tools will need to be able to communicate over port 443 for both ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments.

  2. Admin Tools for ArcGIS Communication (Port 9181): Admin Tools uses port 9181 for communication. This facilitates the seamless exchange of administrative data between the Admin Tools and the ArcGIS Organization.

  3. Backup My Org Communication (Port 8500): Backup My Org relies on port 8500 for communication.

  4. Clean My Org Communication (Port 8000): Clean My Org communicates over port 8000.

  5. Scheduler Communication (Port 7501): Scheduler communicates over port 7501.

  6. Scheduler Satellite Communication (Port 7510): Scheduler Satellite communicates over port 7510.

  7. MongoDB Communication (Port 27017): All GEO Jobe products will need to communicate with MongoDB, a widely used NoSQL database, over port 27017. This port allows seamless interaction with MongoDB for storing and retrieving data, ensuring the functionality of the various products that make up the ABCS of GIS.

By configuring these ports correctly, organizations can ensure efficient communication and operation of the ABCS of GIS, both internally and externally, while maintaining security and data integrity.

These ports can be modified if they are already in use within your organization.
